UNIVERSIDAD DE VALLADOLID

Month-long Immersion Program   

Live with a host family in this safe, vibrant European City, surrounded by medieval castles!  Earn 5-6 units of CSUSM credit in Lower- division or Upper-division Spanish.  Enjoy exciting field trips and cultural activities, included in the tuition.

The Department of World Languages & Hispanic Literatures and the Office of Global Affairs are pleased to announce the 11th annual Summer Program in Valladolid, Spain.  This month-long program of Spanish language and cultural immersion will introduce you to the best of Spain, in 13th century Universidad de Valladolid!!!

Course offerings include*:

Cost:  $2,695  plus airfare*

Nivel Inicial (5 units)

Credit for SPAN 150 - Accelerated beginning Spanish (equivalent to SPAN 101 & 102)

Course provides 80 hours of beginning-level instruction in Grammar, Oral Practice, and Culture

Nivel Intermedio (5 units)

Credit for SPAN 201 or SPAN 202
Course provides 80 hours of intermediate-level instruction in Grammar, Oral Practice, and Culture. Course WILL fulfill CSUSM graduation requirement

Nivel Avanzado (5 units)

Credit for SPAN 301 or SPAN 350A
Course provides 80 hours of advanced-level instruction in Grammar, Oral Practice, and Culture.  May be used towards Spanish major/minor.

Nivel Superior (5 units)

Credit for Span 450B
Course offers 80 hours of advanced-level instruction, combining Spanish Literature with Oral Practice and Advanced Grammar Review.

Additional 1 unit of credit will be available for students who apply for Financial Aid

All course prerequisites will be strictly enforced.

  • 5 units of tuition (1 additional unit is available for those students applying for Financial Aid)

  • Room and full board in private room (single occupancy) with carefully-screened host family

  • Medical insurance
