Stoplight Reflected
After Segal's "Walk, Don't Walk"

I turned the street corner and
I heard a woman sobbing, "I can’t
do this anymore." Her head tilted against
the lightpost as her tears reflected
sparkling red, green, yellow rolling
down her burning face.
The crosswalk turned white,
her tears froze with the thought of walking,
taking another chance in this scary world.
But she just stood there as
the light changed over and
over again, reflecting light off her
like pouring rain and lightning.
