Police Tip Line

If you see or hear of something happening which you believe should be brought to the attention of the police, you can report it confidentially using the Tip-Line. Please provide as much detail as you can about date, time, location, descriptions or names of involved persons, and details of the incident. If vehicles are involved, a license plate and car description would be very useful. There is no way to trace who sent the information. If you want to provide confidential information for the police and remain anonymous, call 760-750-TIPS and leave your message. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our community safe.

Keys
Keys are issued by Facility Services. You may reach them via phone at: (760) 750-4600 or visit their website here.

If your key or access card has been lost or stolen contact CSUSM Police Dispatch immediately at (760) 750-4567.

Short Term Key Issuance

Occasionally there is a requirement to issue keys on a short term basis to contractors and others working on campus.  Because the issuance of these keys may occur after normal work hours, this department will issue the keys at University Services Building at the Dispatch window.   This department will require the cognizant department submit a signed Short Term Key Issuance Form that will be on file with the police department prior to issuance of keys.  The keys will be issued only to those individuals listed.

Critical Response Unit

The mission statement for each Critical Response Unit (CRU) is to prevent and mitigate the effects of civil disorder and natural disasters and executive protection. The CRU was organized to assist fellow campuses with additional personnel who are specifically trained as a unit to respond.  Our department point of contact for CRU is Sergeant Jesus Flores.  He can be contacted by calling (760)750-4567 or by email.

Ride-Along

The University Police offer interested individuals the opportunity to accompany a police officer in the field to observe the patrol activities of the campus and immediate surrounding areas and is called a "ride-along".  This program is offered to better familiarize the university and local communities to the law enforcement function, and to allow those considering a career in law enforcement to better inform themselves on their personal career options. If you are interested in participating in the University Police Ride Along Program, please contact Sergeant Jesus Flores at (760)750-4567 or send an email to him at Ride-along to schedule your visit.
