Student Opportunities

The NLRC offers students opportunities to assist in community-based research and advocacy projects through internships and student assistantships focusing on survey collection, data entry, assistance in the coordination of focus groups, and conducting preliminary research.

Guidelines for Internships/Assistantships

  • Students must be majoring in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, or any other social and behavioral sciences with an emphasis on research or field work related to Latino communities.

  • Students must have a basic understanding of research methods.

  • Bilingual students are preferred, but not required.

  • For internships, students must contact the NLRC by the end of the semester prior to the internship or, the first two weeks during the semester in which the internship will be conducted.
