Community Action to Fight
Asthma (CAFA)
The NLRC serves as one of four Regional
Centers for the California Endowment. CAFA is a state-wide strategic
initiative focused on developing policies and best practices that reduce
environmental asthma triggers among school-aged children.
As a Regional Center, The NLRC provides
technical assistance that supports the work of the San Diego Regional
Asthma Coalition (SDRAC) and the Imperial Valley Asthma Coalition
(IVAC). Technical assistance activities include capacity building,
coalition development, strategic planning, action plan and policy
development, and local intervention implementation.
The NLRC also supports the CAFA initiative in
the following ways:

Development and analysis of data and community needs assessments

Research & identification of best practices and promising models

Identification and tracking of regional data collection activities

Coordination of information and resources among other CAFA partners
throughout the state of California

Assistance with local and state-wide evaluation activities
