This is a virtual community that is described in text only. To move use keyboard comments that are prompted on the screen. For instance: type up now to start your journey.
4). Move through the MOO community reading the descriptions of the forest and other areas. You may come to a town or you may come upon a MOO trans, or you may cross the river and visit another area. There are lots of areas that have been constructed by students of all ages. If you read that another MOO character arrives where you are, you can talk with them by typing a quote followed by a sentence. Example: "Hello, where have you been so far? (press return)
5). There are three things to try to accomplish today. First: go on the MOOtrans and ride around just like a train ride at an amusement park. It will take you to another area of the MOO or eventually back where you started. (be sure to read the directions) Second: Write down three buildings or stores you come upon in the town area. Example: Elmoo's Tavern. Third: Find the stream and cross to the other side, what is there? If you find ZPD, enter and explore. You can read the bulletin board or the chalkboard. You can sit at a table and talk with another character in private.
6). Two things that students might do is draw a map of the MOO environment including at least 20 locations and make up a character for themselves. In order to get a character they have to write a description that someone else could read. Example: if someone looks at K-Talk they will see this description: A talkative and enthusiastic character K that is looking for adventure and always is ready to lend a helping hand.
Hints: if you get lost, you can type home to start over. If you want to refresh your screen and see choices for moves, type look If you would like to read the MOO news, type news, then type: news 7, for beginners instructions. If you would like help, type help. You can type help introduction to get some basic information about the moo.
