I am an Associate Professor of Educational Technology at California State University San Marcos. I am the Coordinator for the General Option Masters in the College of Education. I teach courses in our Master of Arts in Education Program, and in our joint Ed.D. Leadership Program. I teach the 422 course called Technology Tools for Teaching and Learning that is a pre-requisite for our teacher credential program. I also advise students who are interested in completing the Supplementary Authorization in Computer Concepts. Through a grant to develop a certificate program for nurse educators, I teach the EDST 633E course focusing on how to teach online and using videoconferencing. As the PI and Director for two National Science Foundation (NSF) projects, I work with middle school science teachers to integrate technology in their classrooms. Here is the link our project Web sites: SD CyberTEAM and iQUEST (investigations for Quality Understanding and Engagement for Students and Teachers). I am currently working with Poway Unified School District on a Virutal High School project.
My (vita) includes additional information about my work.
My grand-daughter, Kylee, was born December 30, 1999. She is currently in 3rd grade in Santee.
My dissertation
topic: "Videoconferencing in K-12 Education"
was a Delphi Study
of Characteristics and Critical Strategies
to Support Constructivist
Learning Experiences. Through my research,
I have explored educational
learning communities involving videoconferencing
and other interactive
online communications. I believe that by
studying
Theories of
Learning and integrated technologies we can improve K-12
educational
experiences for learners.
