No time for staff development? Need to attract new teachers to your school district? Ready to use short video or audio clips to enhance your curriculum? Interested in companies that offer streaming content delivery to schools? Depending on your bandwidth, streaming media can help you do all this and more! By using streaming media you can see and hear live broadcasts via the web. Streaming media allows sound and video files to be divided into small packets, delivering these packets in small streams to your computer. This technology allows you to watch and hear a video clip streamed or downloaded to use in presentations. Visit this website to see some examples:

Katie Beedon, Education Advocate, SBC Pacific Bell

Katie Beedon is a former science teacher with ten years experience in Sacramento and San Diego, California, as well as in West/Central Africa (Katie peut également parler français!) She has a Multiple Subjects teaching credential, a Single-subject Life Science teaching credential, and an M.A. in Educational Technology from San Diego State University. Katie has been with the Education First Applications Design Team since 1995; first as a graduate assistant and then as an Education Advocate.

Katie works closely with San Diego, Orange County, Imperial, and Riverside County account managers to identify education application opportunities, assist customers with technology choices, and provide value-add services such as customized workshops and presentations. She is also responsible for creating a statewide quarterly newsletter, which is popular with both customers and account managers.

Marycay Densmore

Marycay Densmore is Nationally Board Certified in Early Adolescence/English Language Arts.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication and Liberal Studies, a Multiple Subjects and English Credential, and a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling.   Marycay has been a teacher for twenty-two years.  She taught four years overseas.  Two years were spent at a Japanese high school in Ichinoseki, Japan, and two years were for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Oslo, Norway.  Marycay has taught 2nd-5th, 7th, and 9-12th  grade (RSP, ELL, and GATE students).  Her subject matter has included English/language arts, social studies, multiple subjects, and speech communication. 

Marycay wrote a grant for $31,000 that enabled her to wire the school and buy the equipment.  She has provided videoconferences for many teachers at her school.  Marycay has videoconferenced with many famous authors such as Gary Soto, David Macaulay, Michael Cart, and Michael Hearn.  In addition, she videoconferenced with the following places:  Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Museum of Television and Radio, Ocean Institute in Dana Point, San Diego Zoo, and the California Science Center.  Marycay has also been fortunate to have videoconferenced with schools on the east coast in order to collaborate on student projects.  Videoconferencing has become a part of her classroom environment.
