ILAST Portfolio Guidelines

The portfolio is an essential component of your 120 hours of professional development with ILAST. It will provide your instructor with a record of your progress through the 120 hours. It will also serve as a memento of your progress in integrating technology into your classroom and a reminder of the ILAST program.

Probably the most important piece of the portfolio is how you are using technology to address the California State Content Standards. This would be documented by:

a)  Materials made for students that illustrate your use of instructional technology to address one or more State Content Standards in the classroom.

b) Materials made by students in the course of instruction that illustrate the students' uses of technology in learning one or more State Content Standards.

The best way to document this is to include a lesson from CTAP Lesson Planner and any student products that come out of the lesson that show your students using technology.

Reflection is a crucial part of any portfolio. The reflections you are writing when you turn in your online form (clarify- online form?) can be recycled or integrated throughout your portfolio.

While there is no rigid standard for your portfolio, we do need to make sure that you have the different areas of action plan and CTAP proficiencies covered. What follows is a short list of documents that would be appropriate for showing competencies. There is no requirement to include all of these, they are merely a range of activities that could be included. There are many other wonderful things that you are doing that you could include in your portfolio, so don’t hold these as the only things you can include.

This may be completed either in a binder, or if you want may be done as a digital portfolio.  You must have a log sheet that shows the hour totals in all the categories. You must also have a print out of your summary chart from your final CTAP2 survey.
