• http://www.aitech.ac.jp/~iteslj/ is the Internet TESL Journal (July, 2001) with lesson plans and teaching techniques. Find other TESL Journal issues.

Integrating Technology

• http://www.eslpartyland.com/ has student pages with over 75 interactive quizzes, 15 discussion forums, interactive lessons on a variety of topics, a chat room, and lots of great links. The teacher sites provide you with loads of lesson plans and reproducible materials to use in class. It also has discussion forums, ideas for communicative practice activities, a chat room, a job board, links, and more. Note the Treasure Hunts in "Teaching with the Internet."
• ESL Cafe is a great resource for all kinds of interesting exercises, topics, and games for ESL students.

ESL

• ESL Lab requires RealAudio plugin for updates Netscape and Explorer but contains various listening exercises in real life situations. At the end of each conversation there is a quiz that checks the student's comprehension.
• http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/Jakajk/ESLLessons.html has ESL lessons, games, and links from a teacher for teachers.

Readings for English Learners

• Soon Magazine with news and informative articles that are written in easier language. Subjects and language are more appropriate for secondary.
• http://www.latino.com/espanol/index.php3 is a web site with Latino oriented subjects. It can be shown in English or in Spanish. This site is very similar to AOL in its makeup.
• Ohio ESL a list of electronic texts on-line for ELD learners.
• Learning English for beginners: a huge list of links and resources for beginning ELD readers.

Mathematics

• Discussion Groups for Mathematics Http://forum.swarthmore.edu/ provides math information organized by subject for K- university. In each category there are classroom materials, software, Internet projects, and public forums.
• http://forum.swarthmore.edu/dr.math/dr-math.html provides the ability for students to ask Dr. Math questions, a Problem of the Week, a Project of the Month, and archives of previously asked questions.

Standards and Assessment--California Department of Education

• http://star.cde.ca.gov/ is the Web site for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 results from California's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program. At this site you will find results for the Stanford Achievement Test, Ninth Edition, Form T (Stanford 9), the STAR augmentation in English language arts and mathematics, and the Spanish Assessment of Basic Education, 2^nd Edition (SABE/2).
• www.cde.ca.gov/demographics/ where Data Quest lets you create your own reports about API, enrollment, graduates, dropouts, course enrollments, staffing, English Learners, and Stanford 9 test data. The reports are available for schools, districts, counties, or statewide.
• www.cde.ca.gov/statetests/ points to the Standards and Assessment Division develops, coordinates, and implements California's statewide testing programs. This site contains links to all California tests including Golden State Exam (GSE), High School Exit Exam (HSEE), English Language Development Test (ELD), State Physical Education Test and more.
• http://www.cde.ca.gov/el/ provides English learner resources.
• http://www.cde.ca.gov/ccpdiv/eng_learn/ccr2000-el/tsld001.htm has a program overview of state requirements for ELD students.
