quizzes, 15 discussion forums, interactive
lessons on a variety of topics, a chat room, and lots of great links. The
teacher sites provide you with loads of lesson plans and reproducible
materials to use in class. It also has discussion forums, ideas for
communicative practice activities, a chat room, a job board, links, and
more. Note the Treasure Hunts in "Teaching with the
Internet."

- ESL Lab requires RealAudio plugin
for updates Netscape and Explorer but contains various listening exercises
in real life situations. At the end of each conversation there is a quiz
that checks the student's comprehension.

more appropriate for secondary.
- http://www.latino.com/espanol/index.php3 is a web site with Latino oriented subjects. It
can be shown in English or in Spanish. This site is very similar to AOL in
its makeup.
- Ohio ESL a list of electronic texts on-line for
ELD learners.

ELD readers.

- http://star.cde.ca.gov/ is the Web site for the 1998, 1999 and 2000
results from California's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR)
program. At this site you will find results for the Stanford Achievement
Test, Ninth Edition, Form T (Stanford 9), the STAR augmentation in English
language arts and mathematics, and the Spanish Assessment of Basic
Education, 2nd Edition (SABE/2).
- www.cde.ca.gov/demographics/ where Data Quest lets you create your own
reports about API, enrollment, graduates, dropouts, course enrollments, staffing,
English Learners, and Stanford 9 test data. The reports are available for
schools, districts, counties, or statewide.
- www.cde.ca.gov/statetests/ points to the Standards and Assessment Division
develops, coordinates, and implements California's statewide testing programs. This site
contains links to all California tests including Golden State Exam (GSE), High School Exit Exam
(HSEE), English Language Development Test (ELD), State Physical Education
Test and more.
