Housing options available to international students include: on
campus residence, home-stay arrangements with local families, being
matched with an American student looking for a roommate, renting a room in
someone's home, and living in one of the many apartment complexes near the campus.
The cost of off-campus
housing varies with type. Home-stay costs about $600
per month, including two meals per day. One-bedroom apartments range from
$600-$800 per month. The average cost of a two-bedroom apartment in
San Marcos is currently $800 per month. Rooms in
homes range from $250-$400 per month.
Regularly scheduled buses serve the campus and the
local community. Students with cars may park in student
parking lots on campus for a fee of $248 per semester.
