Deferring FeesCal State San Marcos recognizes that the financial aid process takes time; and therefore allows students to defer payment of fees pending the receipt of financial aid. There are, however, specific requirements that the student agrees to when the University defers fees: Cal State San Marcos will not defer fees indefinitely. At a specified date, fees are due, and the student is responsible for payment whether or not financial aid has been received. A FAFSA form must be filed, and the student must make a good faith effort to meet all requirements to receive financial aid. Students who fail to pay fees will be disenrolled from their courses. When all requirements have been met in the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office, your aid will be credited to your account. If your award exceeds your fees, there will be a credit on your account. This credit balance will be mailed to you in the form of a check. For additional information, call Student Financial Services at (760)750-4491. Fee deferment policy is set by the Cal State San Marcos Fiscal Operations Office and is subject to change.
