1. How will my
information be used?
The information you enter in the Cal
State San Marcos Emergency
Notification System will be kept
completely confidential and will
only be used for emergency
notifications.
2. Is my information
safe?
Your information when entered into
the registration form is 128 bit
encrypted and will only be stored in
a database on the Mir3 servers. Mir3
is our contracted vendor for
emergency notification services.
Your information will never be
shared and is only accessible by the
Cal State San Marcos University
Police Department.
3. What is SMS?
SMS stands for Short Message Service
or often referred to at "Text
Messaging". Generally by entering in
your cell phone or mobile phone
number in the SMS field you will
receive text messages for emergency
notification.
4. What is the
"Registered Through? option for?
The "Registered Through" option
is for a new user to select the
length of time they would like to be
registered in the system to receive
emergency notifications. After the
selected date passes you will be
removed from the Cal State San
Marcos Emergency Notification
System.
5. Is the password the
same as my CSUSM password?
No. This password is whatever you
choose and will be needed to login
and update your information
through the notification
administration site.

6. How do I update my
contact information?
Your Login ID is the email address
you used when you registered (Campus
Email Address). Your password is
whatever you chose when you
registered (Not you campus
password). You can update your
contact information by logging into
this page:

7. Can I remove myself
from the system?
You information and involvement in
the notification is completely
confidential. You information will
never be shared and is only
accessible by the Cal State San
Marcos Police Department.
9. What format do phone
numbers need to be entered in?
When entering in your phone numbers
into the registration form they
should be in the following format:
