The next day I drove up route 12 through Escalante (there's a gay-owned Bed & Breakfast there) and Boulder. The drive along route 12 is gorgeous any time of the year, though these pictures don't capture the winter beauty very well (I'll have to go back):
Later in the afternoon I went through Capitol Reef and then further up through Goblin Valley (the picture below) and on around to Moab. Unfortunately, the light was not good for pictures in the afternoon and I only came up with the one picture
