Carrizozo, NM
About none years ago I came through Carrizozo on a trip east, and had found the town interesting. At some point in the past it had been a fairly good size small town, mainly built as the a trading center on a main railroad line -- as railroads changed, the town largely died out. On this most recent visit, I found the town to be pretty much as it was on the first visit -- the townspeople in the restaurants and stores have been very friendly, and the area has a stark beauty.
