               TEAS Exam®

The School of Nursing is now offering the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS exam).  The TEAS exam can be taken at any location that it is offered. If you take the exam at CSU San Marcos, your scores will automatically be sent electronically by ATI Testing to our School of Nursing and to the Office of Extended Learning.  You do not need to pay to have your scores sent here, if you take the exam here. You can request that a copy of your TEAS scores be sent to other universities by visiting ATI Testing's On-Line Store.  You must order and pay the fee to have your scores sent electronically to other universities, other than your testing location, by ATI Testing.  We only accept scores that are sent electronically by ATI Testing; we do not accept paper copies of TEAS exam results.  If you take the exam elsewhere you must pay ATI Testing to have your scores sent electronically to us.

Step 1:  MAXIMUM of THREE TIMES TO TAKE TEAS AT CSUSM:  Effective immediately, we will not register anyone for the TEAS exam here, if they have taken the exam more than three times at CSUSM.   After three attempts, a student's score will generally not rise and may even decline.

Step 2:  PAYMENT:  Print this PAGE and take it to the Cashier's Office, located in Cougar Central, on the 3rd floor of Craven Hall, to pay the $50 test fee.  This fee is NON REFUNDABLE  and You must be pre-registered and pre-paid before your test date.  No drop-in testing is available on the test day, nor payment at the door. 

Step 3:  TO SCHEDULE TEST -  TIME/DATE/LOCATION:  Bring your receipt from the Cashiers office to the School of Nursing, located in the Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) Building, located at 120 Craven Drive, Suite 201, San Marcos to schedule your TEAS exam. (Link to campus map). Space is limited to 40 students per test date and will be held in the Computer Classroom #222 at the School of Nursing.  No individual exams will be given.  Free parking is permitted in the back of the lot at 120 Craven Road.  Please be considerate of patients who must park close to the building due to health issues. 

Step 4:  ACCOUNTS:  You will need to log in to ATI's website to take the test. If you have not already created an account through ATI testing, please do so prior to your test date at http://www.atitesting.com.
Please remember to know your ATI account logon and password on the day of the test.

REQUIRED ITEMS:   A photo ID (current driver's license, California Identification card, passport or government identification), displaying the same first name and last name in which you registered for this test, and a photo that looks like you.  IF THIS DOES NOT MATCH, YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE TEST.

RESTRICTIONS
 * No Aids (calculators, dictionaries, books, etc.) of any kind will be allowed in the testing room.
 * No backpacks or papers will be allowed.
 * No cell phones or pagers will be allowed in the testing room.
 * No food, drinks or snacks of any type are permitted in  the testing room.
 * No visitors will be permitted in the testing area and no childcare will be available.

TESTING SCHEDULE:
The following is our schedule for the remainder of  Spring 2010 through Mid-Summer 2010.  Testing will be held at the School of Nursing.  The TEAS exam will be offered at CSU San Marcos throughout the year.  We will post new test dates toward the beginning of each new term (summer, fall).

Please Note:     Minimum number of students needed is 15 signed up for test date otherwise test
                        MAY BE CANCELLED.  You will be notified if a test date must be cancelled.
