Initially, after logging onto the Apple Macintosh (Mac) computer, the desktop is the first workspace one will encounter. The desktop contains all the various applications, disks, and utilities necessary to perform the tasks one will need. Located on the desktop one will see: the hard drive (normally located in the top right corner of the screen) and any other CDs or external drives in use, the dock, which holds various applications available, the Finder for locating files, and the menu bar for other various options.
