The iMovie workspace layout is pretty simple to use.
The top-left corner contains the viewer where the video is shown from the various clips.
The top-right corner contains the area where your clips are stored.
Below that area is a set of buttons, which will change the top-right corners contents.
- Clips is the first button, which shows the clips in the project.
- The next button, Photos, allows you to view any photos kept in the iPhoto library.
- The Audio Button contains your iTunes library as well as iMovie sound effects (available through the drop-down menu at the top of the audio list).
- Titles allows you to add text to your project.
- Trans allows for transitions between clips while the Effects button applies various special effects to your video.
- The iDVD button allows you to add chapter markers for export to iDVD.
