 The Liberal Studies Department at California State University San Marcos is recruiting for a part-time lecturer to teach the following undergraduate upper division level course:

LBST 375 Urban Change and Ethnicity

Cal State San Marcos has an immediate need for an instructor for an upper division course entitled “World Regional Geography: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Enhanced.”  Minimum qualifications are a Master’s Degree in a related field and substantial experience with GIS.  The first class meets on Wednesday, August 29 from 5:30-8:15 at our San Marcos campus, and continues to meet each Wednesday through December 5.  If you are interested in applying for this position, please contact Kim Knowles-Yánez, Chair of the Liberal Studies Department, at 760-750-8056 or kyanez@csusm.edu.   

Course Description:  “Enhanced survey of major world regions and their major countries using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. Study of specific geographical circumstances and geographical concepts, including an emphasis on physical geography. Focuses on processes and issues such as development and under-development; population and migration; race, class, and gender; technology and economic growth; natural resources and the environment, and conflict and cooperation with a world regional framework.”
