SEMESTER ABROAD

The ALCI offers semester-long and year-long study-abroad programs for international university students. As a Semester Abroad student, you may take university classes without applying to the university.  You may take one to four university classes per semester, depending on your English level.

As a Semester Abroad student with a TOEFL score of at least 61 (iBT), 173 (computer), or 500 (paper), or an IELTS score of 5, you may take university courses without applying to the university. You may take one to four university classes per semester, depending on your English level. You may take only university courses or combine them with intensive English courses.

If you do not have a TOEFL or IELTS score, you may take the ALCI placement test to determine your level.

Semester Abroad students will pay additional university general fees, currently $137 per semester, subject to change.  Semester Abroad students should arrive in San Marcos at least five days before the semester start date. You must meet with the ALCI academic coordinator to select your university courses.
