Reminder:
Your first task is to read the General Salon.  This will explain to you how salons work and give you general information about how to participate in this on-line course. To ensure adequate class participation, you must take part in the salons (i.e., submit comments) on two separate days each week during the fall term. Only for Labor Day week (Sept. 7-11) and Thanksgiving week will there be only one salon.

Each salon will contain questions to be addressed by each of you on the topic of that salon session. There will also be connected readings and in some cases mini-lectures which will help you to sort out your thoughts about what you read.  You need to respond to EVERY SALON.

By September 3rd (which is one week into the term), all of you should be clear about how to access this course and what you need to do to become an active participant in a salon.   You can expect responses from me Tuesday mornings and Friday mornings.   Responses from you to my Tuesday "posting" are due by Thursday morning; responses from you to the Friday "postings" will be due Monday morning.  Be sure to (1) submit your comments to the appropriate salons, (2) enter your name and email address before submitting your comments, and (3) reload the web site to view your own comments at the bottom of each salon page.
