Example of an annotation:
Villareal, J. A. (1970) Pocho. New York : Doubleday.
This novel, set in California, tells the story of Richard Rubio, a young
Mexican-American whose father is an immigrant worker. The story relates
Richard's conflicting feelings toward his Mexican heritage and his bitter
experiences when he tries to become part of the Anglo society. Although
not as realistic as Richard Vasquez's Chicano, the author, a
Mexican-American himself, has produced a sensitive portrayal of the
facts of life as seen by a Mexican-American boy growing to maturity
and trying to find his place in the world. It is meant for a male
adolescent audience.
