Welcome to Getting Published! The Latin root of the word "publish", publicare, means "to make public". This diagram outlines the process by which research is published. The purpose of this program is to introduce you, the student, to the publication cycle, the process by which scholars and scientists research, write and eventually publish the results of their work. You also will become familiar with how that information gets repackaged into books, encyclopedias, indexes, and other sources of information.

In the upcoming weeks, you will be researching and writing a paper with the goal of getting your paper "published" in one of the electronic journals that we have created for this class. This paper and several accompanying activities are integrated into Getting Published. Instructions are provided on what to do for each assignment. Read everything presented so you can complete them sucessfully. Good luck and have fun.
